Nowadays, Technology is ruling our world. Thanks to these technologies and inventions, we are able to live our lives at ease. So it is important to update ourselves with the current trending technologies and those that will soon make their way into these technologies. We must know the details of these technologies to utilize them effectively.

Technology is evolving at a faster rate. So we need to learn and understand these technologies for better investments. Here are the top 10 Trending technologies which will flourish in 2021.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science
  • 5G Technology
  • Robotic Process Automation
  • Internet of Behaviors(IoB)
  • Edge Computing
  • Block Chain
  • DevOps
  • Virtual Reality

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

In this modern world, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are the hot topics ruling the Tech Industry.

Artificial Intelligence refers to the intelligence demonstrated by machines where they are programmed to perform tasks that typically require lots of human input. The basic objective of AI is to enable computers to perform intellectual tasks such as decision making, problem solving, perception, understanding human communication, etc.

Machine Learning is the science of letting the machines or computers perform tasks without being explicitly programmed. It can improve automatically through experience and with the given data.

Machine Learning is a subset or application of Artificial Intelligence, that provides it to learn and improve automatically.

Cyber Security

Cyber Security is an application of technology which is the practice of defending or protecting the servers, computers or other data from malicious attacks and unauthorized exploitations.

Cyber Security has always been a critical business issue for every Organization.

Most prominent types of Cyber Security includes:

  • Network security

It prevents any unauthorized intrusion into corporate networks.

  • Application Security

It secures app by fixing vulnerabilities in application code.

  • Information Security

It is also referred to as Data Security, where it keeps the data secured from unauthorized access, both when it is stored and when it gets transmitted to another device.

  • Operational Security

This is where the Organizations protect the public data about themselves that could, if analyzed properly can bring out a bigger picture which ought to stay hidden in the dark.

Data Science

Data Science is a field of study that deals with vast area of modern techniques to build predictive models. It is an blend of mathematics, statistics, data engineering, advanced computing and visualizations.

It also relies on Artificial Intelligence and its subsets- Machine Learning and Deep Learning to understand and utilize these algorithms.

5G Technology

5G is the fifth generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which began deploying worldwide in 2019. It is the successor to the 4G networks which are used by most of the current cellphones.

It is the new wireless global network following 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G. It is meant to deliver higher data speeds, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability, and a more uniform user experience to the users.

One main drawback is that many of the old devices will not support 5G, thus requiring a new device.

Robotic Process Automation

Robotic Process Automation(RPA), also referred to as the Software Robotics is a software technology that makes it easy to build, deploy, and manage software robots that emulates human actions of interacting with digital systems. It also enables the users to create bots by observing human digital actions.

RPA software bots can interact with any applications or systems similar to the way that we do. They can operate much faster with higher reliability and precision.

Internet of behaviors(IoB)

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of physical objects that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices over the internet.

Internet of Behaviors(IoB) describes the process by which user-controlled data is analysed through a behavioral psychology perspective. With the results of that analysis, it informs new approaches to designing a user experience (UX), search experience optimisation (SXO), and to market the end products and services offered by the companies.

To conduct IoB, it requires statistical studies to be conducted that map everyday habits and behaviors without actually disclosing consumer privacy completely for ethical and legal reasons.

Edge Computing

Edge computing is a distributed information technology architecture in which the client data is processed at the periphery of the network, as close to the originating source as possible.

The potential of Edge Computing is extremely high. It moves some portion of storage and compute resources from the central data center, closer to the source of the data itself. It employs virtualization technology so as to make it easier to deploy and run a wide range of applications on edge servers.

Block Chain

A blockchain is a type of database. It is a system that collects information in groups or blocks and holds the set of information in a way which makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. Blockchain does not store any of its information in a central location instead, it is copied and spread across a network of computers. If a new block is being added to the Blockchain, every computer on the network updates its Blockchain to reflect the change.

In a Blockchain, different types of information can be stored but the most common use so far has been as a ledger for transactions. It is used in a decentralized way such that no single person or a particular group has control rather, all users collectively retain control.

DevOps

DevOps is a set of practices that integrates software development and IT operations so that they can build, test, and release software faster and more reliably. The word ‘DevOps’ is actually a combination of the words- ‘Development’ and ‘Operations’.

It consists of six phases, representing the processes, capabilities, tools needed for development on the left side of the loop, the processes, capabilities, and tools needed for operations on the right side of the loop.

It helps to increase the organization’s speed to deliver software applications and services, and also to serve their customers better and compete more strongly in the market.

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is a simulated experience created using computer programs in which a person can interact within an artificial three-dimensional environment using electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen or gloves fitted with sensors.

This technology is used to create immersive experiences that can help in both educating and also entertaining the consumers.

3 primary categories of Virtual Reality are

  • Non-immersive simulations
  • Semi-immersive simulations
  • Fully-immersive simulations

Though we are only familiar with the VR games, the application of virtual reality is applied in a variety of industries, such as medicine, architecture, military, etc.
